That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Summary
The story is about a 37-year-old man (Satoru Mikami) who got stabbed after saving his friend’s life and died. Then he got reincarnated as a slime (Rimuru) into an alternate universe.
Sounds boring right? It’s not!
The thing is, this slime is smart and has a convenient power called “Predator” (which can devour other creatures and obtain their abilities).
He starts as the least powerful creature in that universe.
Rapidly he began gaining abilities at first from plants (like “Poison” or “Paralysis”). With those abilities, he proceeds to hunt other small monsters and gets more powerful.
After a while, he encounters a mighty dragon trapped in the dungeon(where he was born) but luckily for him this foe needed some assistance, so he befriended him and was able to make a deal.
He exits the dungeon and meets a couple of goblins in trouble. After he helps them, they decide to take him to their village where after a while and a couple of significant actions he is named chief.
Then the adventure really begins!
I know the summary is very basic, but I hate spoilers.
This novel checks multiple boxes for me:
1) Alternate universe
2) Magic
3) A super smart main character
4) RPG Oriented
5) Country/Sect/Group building (Yep, I like that stuff)
6) Good and decisive characters

The most critical plot within this kind of light novel mainly revolves on the protagonist hoping to construct his kingdom, or within a much bigger case, his empire.
Sometimes bad guys are your very best characters, and on occasion, the story is all about the terrible guy becoming a great guy, and at times the story is all about a fantastic guy becoming a poor guy, and sometimes who is the terrible guy is dependent on where you’re standing.
So… in my opinion this light novel deserves a… (Drum sound)
